It’s a little early for a summer shark movie, but this fitfully exciting “Jaws” ripoff will have to do until the real thing comes along.

For those of us who feel it’s never a bad time for a shark movie—and you know who you are—the very idea of “Jaws” in a hurricane is bound to be a grabber. But “Thrash” —with topline cred from producer Adam McKay and “Bridgerton” star Phoebe Dynevor—actually makes the stupid extremes of the “Sharknado” series look like Oscar bait. Bummer.
