"Stranger Things: Tales from '85"

Who’s the audience for this infantile, animated take on an indelible series? Only diehards and dimwits need apply.

Red Alert! Somebody just cannibalized characters from “Stranger Things” and turned them into computerized cartoons. Aren’t there laws against this? Not when series creators, the Duffer Brothers, are in on the scam. Call it “Invasion of the IP Snatchers,” as the twin bros find a way to keep the kids from Huntsville, Indiana eternally young and exploitable. Cartoons don’t age and neither does greed, which is the real spark behind “Stranger Things: Tales from '85,” now hawking its kiddie-focused wares for 10 episodes on Netflix.
