★★★ (3 out of 4)

There is less than meets the eye in this grimy-gorgeous, sex-obsessed family drama from Stephen Knight, the wordsmith behind “Peaky Blinders.” If “Peaky” had a bastard child with HBO’s “Succession,” you’d have a good idea of what “House of Guinness” is rattling on about, though it stands in the shadow of its far superior predecessors.
