★★★ (3 out of 4)
I know, streaming series about serial killers are a dime a dozen these days. But when Stephen Graham stars as the psycho and Liev Schreiber steps in as the cop in hot pursuit, you pay attention to “Nocturne,” a 10-part Apple TV+ series that holds you in thrall. Based on the bestselling novels “The Sandman” and “Lazarus” by the husband-and-wife team of Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril who use the pen name Lars Kepler, the series moves the Swedish setting of the books to western Pennsylvania to make the threats feel closer to home. Mission accomplished.
