There’s a new kid in town. And she’s killing her box-office competition. I’m talking about Lilo, the orphaned Hawaiian girl in “Lilo & Stitch,” Disney’s live-action remake of its 2002 animated favorite. After shattering the record for a Memorial weekend, with a wowza $183 million in the till, Lilo and her space alien buddy Stitch are coming for their Disney sibling “A Minecraft Movie,” which currently holds the 2025 box-off record with $720 million and still counting.
