As a hometown boy, I’m always excited when a new edition of the New York Film Festival kicks off. Starting Friday, Sept. 26 and going to Monday, Oct. 13, this will be the fest’s 63rd year of delivering the best in world cinema. Ticketholders may not agree what’s best—in fact they usually don’t—which is always part of the contentious fun.
