The bestselling mystery writer Harlan Coben has a mega-million contract with Netflix to develop 14 of his novels into series or films, all to be executive produced by New Jersey’s favorite son of suspense. It’s a sweet deal for him. And even better for us. Starting with “The Stranger” in 2020, the Cobens keep coming. OK, some better than others—if you missed “Missing You,” no big miss. Still, the Coben brand of intricate plot twists and breathless propulsion is a guarantee for adrenalized escapism.
