The only challenge in watching this misbegotten sequel to the 2020 original is staying awake and conscious through the nonstop monotony.

Even though “The OId Guard 2” is separated from the original Netflix movie by five years, the action picks up right after the first one ended. So everything’s the same, right? Wrong. The internal combustion that made the OG version propulsive and strangely touching has slowed to a crawl, moving like  molasses from scene to scene until you want to shout, “Do something!”
