It’s time to shut up and deal. With Oscar night coming on March 15, it’s a good moment for me to pick the winners based on what I think the academy of old farts and prejudices will do and what I believe Oscar voters should do if they were really being honest about what was best. You’ll go broke betting on the integrity ticket. But in the last few years, the Academy has been inviting younger and more diverse members to join its club, now numbering 9900 voters, with 35 percent identifying as women and 20 percent from underrepresented ethnic and racial communities.
