"Enola Holmes 3"

Sneaky plot holes can’t dim the joy Millie Bobby Brown delivers as Sherlock Holmes’ smarter sister.

The genie-in-a-bottle effervescence that Millie Bobby Brown brings to the role of Enola Holmes—Sherlock’s genius handful of a kid sister—continues apace in “Enola Holmes 3,” now back in the crime busting business on Netflix. Brown was just sweet 16 when she played Enola for the first time in 2020, continuing with a second movie in 2022, and now at 22 and a wife and mother, Brown goes for the Trifecta with “Enola Holmes 3.” There’s a new maturity in her performance, but nothing to really slow her down except a convoluted plot that threatens at times to dim Enola’s perpetually high spirits. This third “Enola Holmes” movie may lack the thrill of discovery, but Brown keeps discovering fresh ways to bring her most famous character, after Eleven in “Stranger Things,” to scrappy life.
