A “Psycho” origin story in series form worked just fine for “Bates Motel,” and now, thanks to a killer performance from Linda Cardellini, “Crystal Lake” adds some hellish turns to the beginnings of “Friday the 13th,” the low-budget 1980 blockbuster that has already spawned 11 sequels and one reboot. Grossing nearly a billion bucks, the franchise is topped only by “Halloween” at $1.1 billion, making household psycho names of Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees.
