Critics shat all over “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the 2018 Freddie Mercury biopic, just like they’re doing now to “Michael,” the sanitized version of the young Michael Jackson. But MJ star Jafaar Jackson, the King of Pop’s nephew who portrays him on screen, should take heart. Rami Malek who played Freddie the Queen frontman, won an Oscar as Best Actor while his film neared a billion bucks at the box office (“Michael” is also off to a sensational early start). Meaning? That when the public decides a music biopic gets it right, critics are beside the point. Even after death, Mercury and Michael Jackson can still rock you.
