"Being Heumann"

A biopic about disability activist Judy Heumann that Ruth Madeley plays with all the fire and fun this force of nature deserves.

★★★ (3 out of 4)

If you’re looking for a movie that honestly deserves being called “inspirational,” look no further than “Being Heumann,” now in theaters on the streaming path to Apple TV on November 13. It’s a sectional biopic, meaning not cradle to grave. Its focus is on the 1970s protests that helped win Judith Heumann, played with appropriately fabulous flair by Ruth Madeley, the title of “mother of the disability rights movement.” Good call.
